“Participate joyfully in the sorrows of the world. We cannot cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live in joy.” – Joseph Campbell
Our responses and attitudes say a lot about us. How do you usually react to situations that are distressful and hurtful? Do you let them swallow you whole, unable to escape, downtrodden and paralyzed? Of course, in some of these situations, grief is a necessity. But can there be joy amidst grief?
We cannot let sorrow consume us. We can recognize the sorrow, but we cannot let it inhibit us from continuing to live, to strive for what is good. Whatever you are going through this week, I hope you can continue to find the joy in the midst of sorrow.
