In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Half and Half.”
Last week my mom and younger sister came to visit me in the woods. On their last day visiting me, I took them to Storm King. This hike is entirely uphill and at one point is so steep that there are ropes you have to pull yourself up to get to the top. Typically this hike offers stunning views of Crescent Lake, Fir and Spruce covered mountains, and Canada in the distance. The last time I did this hike the skies were clear and the sun was on its way to setting. This time however, it was morning and the fog was so thick that you could only see the rock in front of you. I love hikes like this because of their peaceful and surreal nature.
